Pro Bono Fridays

Friday is the day we answer questions nobody is paying us to answer

Every Friday, Advocate Sharan Jain sets time aside for people who are not clients and are not being billed. It runs on whatever time is free that week. Send the question in first, and it is taken up as availability allows.

01

Send the question in

Use the Ask Me form. Keep it general, leave out names and case numbers, and say what you actually want to know. One question in your own words is enough.

02

We confirm a slot, if one is open

Where the question needs a conversation rather than a paragraph, we write back and fix a Friday time. Nothing is charged for it. Slots depend on the week, so we cannot hold a date open for you.

03

The answer may go out in public

Questions a lot of people are asking get answered as a short video or a social media post, anonymised, with nothing in it that identifies you. That way one answer reaches everybody carrying the same problem.

What this is not

  • No promised date. We work through these as availability allows, and in a busy week there is none at all.
  • No queue position. Questions that affect a lot of people are taken up ahead of one-off ones, whenever they came in.
  • Not advice on your case. A pro bono answer is general information about the law, and it does not create an advocate-client relationship.
  • Not private. If your question is published it goes out anonymised, but do not send anything you would not want discussed in public. For a confidential matter, engage the firm instead.
